Dec. 10--Amazon.com is expanding its food business into groceries for the first time in Chicago, making Plum Market items available for one-hour delivery via the company's Prime Now service.
Plum Market groceries have been available for delivery through Instacart since last year. Amazon also said it will add Sprinkles Cupcakes and My Fit Foods to its lineup for its fastest delivery option.
One-hour delivery costs $7.99. Two-hour delivery is free, beyond the $99 annual membership fee already paid by Prime members.
Amazon Prime Now is available in about 20 cities across the country.
