Oct. 31--An overturned crane is blocking all northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway in San Clemente.
Traffic is backed up for miles as cars move in single file on the shoulder of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crane overturned around 3 p.m., said Jon Latosquin, a spokesman for CHP.
It will take more than eight hours for the crane to be moved and for all lanes to reopen, Latosquin said.
Traffic is backed up as far as three miles to Basilone Road, Latosquin said.
