Jan. 07--All the lanes of the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights have been reopened after a crash between a big rig and charter bus shut down most of the eastbound lanes for several hours Wednesday.
Los Angeles County firefighters said 34 people were injured when the bus and a big rig collided before 10 a.m. The bus' rear axle was snapped in two and both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene, California Highway Patrol logs show.
Of the 34 injured, at least 20 people suffered minor injuries and six were hospitalized, fire officials said.
A SigAlert was issued after the crash forced the closure of four lanes but by 1 p.m. all were reopened, CHP officials said.
The crash was reported about 9:38 a.m. at the East Seventh Avenue off-ramp.
