Dec. 06--A village trustee from south suburban Dixmoor is accused of pointing a handgun at two men as he "flashed" his official badge during an argument last month, officials said.
Ira Rolark, 39, of the 14600 block of Cooper Avenue, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor aggravated assault, said Sophia Ansari, spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff's office.
Rolark bonded out Thursday after an appearance before a judge at the Markham Courthouse, said Ansari.
Nov. 6 about 6 p.m. Rolark became embroiled in an argument with two men, aged 51 and 46, in the 14600 block of Cooper Avenue.
"During this argument Mr. Rolark pointed a black semi-automatic handgun and flashed his trustee badge at them,'' said Ansari.
It was not clear what the argument was about. No shots were fired and no one was hurt.
The victims filed a police report the next day and sheriff's officials began an investigation on Nov. 24, said Ansari. Rolark was arrested Thursday.
Rolark is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 30, 2015, Ansari said. A mugshot of Rolark was not immediately available.
Ansari said Rolark has a prior battery arrest from about 12 years ago.
