Aug. 12--Following last year's live announcement by Jane Lynch, stage, screen, and television actor Michael Shannon will continue the Jeff Award's celebrity announcement trend.
Shannon, a founding member of A Red Orchid Theater and recipient of two Jeff Awards, will announce the 2015 nominations covering Chicago's Equity theaters on a video to be released Aug. 21 at www.jeffawards.org.
Shannon is best known for his work on "Boardwalk Empire" and in "Man of Steel," and was most recently seen in Chicago in A Red Orchid's 2013 "Simpatico." He is set to star in A Red Orchid Theatre's upcoming production of "Pilgrim's Progress" by Brett Neveu.
The Jeff Awards will take place Oct. 5 at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace.
