Sept. 04--A Red Orchid Theatre has announced its new managing director, Abigail Madden, and new director of development, Jim Kirkhoff. Madden and Kirkhoff replace Rebecca Eaton and Jennifer Sultz, respectively.
Madden was previously the office manager at the Theatre of Western Springs. She worked as a marketing and development intern at 16th Street Theater and served for 11 years as manager of O'Sullivan's Public House, an Irish pub in Forest Park.
Kirkhoff is a co-founder of Water Street Studios, a visual-art center in Batavia. He has also worked as a consultant with Core Project (an interdisciplinary dance company), the Arts and Business Council of Chicago, Side Street Studio Arts in Elgin and Batavia MainStreet.
Founded in 1993, A Red Orchid Theatre has welcomed into its fold an array of award winning actors, playwrights and theater artists. An upcoming production of "Pilgrim's Progress" by Brett Neveu will feature founding member Michael Shannon.
