BRIEF: A century of California droughts told through cartoons

April 22--Each major drought in California offers its own cultural touchstones.

The current water shortage has helped spawn social media #droughtshaming, in which people post videos and photos on Facebook and Twitter showing others wasting water.

But the state has been struggling with periods of drought for decades. And one way to measure public attitudes about those dry spells is through editorial cartoons of the era.
