BRIEF: 8 injured when vehicle crashes into Chipotle restaurant in Mid-City

June 19--Several customers inside a Chipotle restaurant in Mid-City suffered minor injures Friday when a vehicle crashed into the side of the building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The accident occurred about 2:10 p.m. at 4550 W. Pico Boulevard when a car struck the building, according to Margaret Stewart, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

She said eight people, including a family of four, were inside the restaurant and suffered minor injuries, ranging from chest pains to head injuries. The ages of the victims were not released.

All the injured were taken to hospitals, Stewart said.

She said the crash caused "cosmetic damage" to the building and its structural integrity was not affected.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
