Jan. 09--Six people were taken to hospitals, five of them in serious-to-critical condition, after a crash on a Kennedy Expressway off-ramp early Saturday, authorities said.
About 2:20 a.m., two cars crashed on the off-ramp from the southbound Kennedy Expressway to North Avenue, said Illinois State Police Sgt. Rodney Collins. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, he said.
Six people were taken to hospitals: two to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, three to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, and one to Presence Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in fair-to-serious condition, according to a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department. Information from fire officials initially said two were in fair-to-serious condition and four were in serious-to-critical condition.
