Oct. 23--One person is in custody after a Northwest Side crash left five people in serious-to-critical condition, Chicago police and fire officials said.
At about 2:15 a.m. in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, two cars were traveling south on Cicero Avenue near Armitage Avenue when one hit the other and both cars crashed, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman. One driver was taken into custody.
No information was available about the ages or genders of the people who were injured, but all were adults, said Chicago Fire Department Deputy District Chief Jeff Lyle.
Three people went to Stroger Hospital, and two went to Mount Sinai Hospital, Lyle said.
