Nov. 29--Five people were injured, including a seriously hurt child, in a crash in the Bronzeville neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
The crash at 48th Street and Indiana Avenue about 1:45 p.m. sent one child in serious-to-critical condition to Comer Children's Hospital, and sent four other people to hospitals in fair-to-serious condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department's news office.
A Honda Odyssey disobeyed a stop sign and hit a Lexus, injuring the five, four of whom were adults, police said. Citations were later issued for disobeying a stop sign and not properly restraining a child.
The child injured was a girl, police said. Two men, ages 47 and 43, were taken to Stroger Hospital, and two women, ages 32 and 38, were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Fire crews were dispatched to the scene for a vehicle crash with victims pinned into the vehicle, leading to an Emergency Medical Services Plan 1, which sends at least six ambulances to the scene.
Police News Affairs did not immediately have information on the crash.
