Aug. 04--Broadway in Chicago has booked a new touring production of the classic backstage musical "42nd Street," the Chicago presenter announced Tuesday. The production will be directed by Mark Bramble, who co-authored the book to the 1980 musical, which is based on the classic 1933 movie about a young dancer from Allentown and her Broadway dreams. The show, which features a non-Equity cast and is produced by Troika Entertainment, will be choreographed by Randy Skinner. Although this production is beginning in Salt Lake City rather than New York City, both Bramble and Skinner worked on the 2001 revival of "42nd Street." In the new tour, the lead role of Peggy Sawyer is to be played by Caitlin Ehlinger. The hoofers will begin a two-week run in Chicago on March 8 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St.
