Gunfire, drone arrests follow Cubs win in Wrigleyville

Oct. 15--A parolee from Dolton who was arrested after a gun was fired and a Glenview man cited for operating a drone were among a handful of incidents police dealt with Tuesday night following the Cubs victory at Wrigley Field, police said.

Details on the drone case were not immediately clear, but Sean Wilson, 27, of north suburban Glenview, was issued a citation at 7:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Eddy Street for a violation of helicopter operations, according to police.

A few hours after the streets were reopened following the game, Hoytuan Pierce, a parolee from Dolton whose 32nd birthday was Wednesday, was arrested, according to police and the Illinois Department of Corrections.

It happened about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after officers responded to the sound of a gunshot in the 3400 block of North Clark Street, police said. When they got there officers saw a fight on the street among three people that they later learned was gang related.

Pierce was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, habitual criminal, and was wanted for a parole violation, according to police.

He was released on parole in June following a conviction for driving on a revoked or suspended license after a second DUI, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Other convictions since 2002 include felony possession or use of a firearm, aggravated battery to a government employee and robbery, according to IDOC.

Additionally, five people were given tickets for drinking on the public way and four people were arrested on misdemeanor charges, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department.

There were nine people arrested Oct. 7 in Wrigleyville after the Cubs' wild-card game win in Pittsburgh over the Pirates.
