BRIEF: 3 injured in shooting at 95th Street Red Line station

Dec. 25--Two people were critically wounded by gunfire and a third person was injured by shattered glass in a Christmas Eve shooting at the CTA's 95th Street Red Line station, according to police.

A man and a woman were shot at the station at about 10:45 p.m. in the Princeton Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

The man, 25, was shot in the chest, and the woman, 41, was shot in the knee and the stomach, police said. The two were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where they were each listed in critical condition.

Also during the shooting, a 24-year-old man was hit in the face by broken glass. He was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. There was a shattered window near a station entrance.

According to police, a man fighting with the woman fired shots at the mezzanine level of the station.

After the shooting, police blocked part of a station entrance with tape. Several yellow markers identified where shell casings and other evidence were found.

Police said they are looking for a man in his 50s who ran east after the shooting.

Train service was not affected, the CTA said.
