July 23--The Cubs return to Wrigley Field on Friday, and three new Hot Doug's sausages will be waiting for them.
The Hot Doug's concession stand, behind the center-field scoreboard (and, yes, you need a bleacher ticket to get there), will feature three creations, each named for a former Cubs player:
The Champ Summers is a spicy Vienna Beef polish sausage with Goose Island beer mustard and fried onions.
The Pete LaCock is a rib-eye steak sausage with horseradish cream and blue cheese.
The Bill Bonham is an "atomic" pork sausage with cherry marmalade and smoked gouda cheese.
Price is $9 for each.
And what of the first three sausages from Doug Sohn of Hot Doug's? The Dave Kingman, Rick Reuschel and Carmen Fanzone sausages are off the menu for now; the plan is to rotate the encased-meat creations throughout the season.
