BRIEF: 3 injured in South Side fire

Dec. 13--Three people were injured in a blaze on the South Side early Saturday.

The fire started around 4:30 a.m. in a two and a half story building in the 8200 block of South Langley Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight.

The injured, whose ages and genders were not immediately available, were transported with non-life-threatening injuries to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, Advocate Trinity Hospital and Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where their conditions were stabilized, Knight said.

The fire was extinguished quickly, but the cause of the blaze still is under investigation, Knight said.

No other details were immediately available.
