BRIEF: 3 including cop hurt after police chase in Pilsen

June 10--Two men are in custody after stealing a minivan and leading police on a chase through the city's Pilsen neighborhood that ended when they crashed into a police vehicle, authorities said.

About 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, police officers spotted the two men breaking into a minivan in the 700 block of West 21st Street, police said. The men then fled in the vehicle, leading officers on a chase, police said.

The men crashed the minivan into a police vehicle near the corner of West Cermak Road and South Laflin Street and then into a pole, police said.

An officer inside the police vehicle was injured and was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

The two men were also injured in the crash. They were taken into custody and then taken to hospitals to be treated for their injuries, which police said were minor.
