Nov. 25--The Chicago Tribune Media Group's Park Ridge Herald-Advocate reports: Three people were taken to area hospitals after a car crashed into the corner of a Park Ridge house following a collision with another vehicle Monday afternoon, acting Fire Chief Jeff Sorensen said.
Gene and Bernadette Kugach were inside their red-brick Park Ridge home at the southeast corner of Western and Albion avenues when they heard what they described as a "big bang" outside.
"They're doing work at the house next door, so we thought the noise was from there," Gene Kugach said.
When Kugach stepped outside to see what was going on, he found a silver Toyota Solara had crashed into the corner of his house, taking down a small tree and damaging a window shutter and a downspout.
The car, which Kugach said contained a man and a woman, sustained heavy damage. Small pieces of plastic debris from the car were scattered across the lawn and sidewalk outside the house, where the Kugaches have lived for more than 35 years.
