June 13--Three south suburbanites are being held in lieu of $500,000 bail following a shooting and armed robbery on the Southwest Side earlier this month.
Shaquan Carter, 20, of Lynwood; Torron Hawkins, 21, of Lynwood; and Latika Martin, 19, of Calumet City, were charged with armed home invasion, aggravated discharge of a firearm and two counts of armed robbery each, according to a statement from Oak Lawn police.
Oak Lawn police assisted Chicago paramedics and police officers in finding a shooting victim about 1:54 p.m. June 7.
Oak Lawn police found the victim in an apartment in the 10200 block of South Pulaski Road with a gunshot wound to the hip that wasn't life-threatening, and the person was taken by ambulance to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Oak Lawn detectives began an "exhaustive investigation" during which they learned the offenders targeted the victim in a robbery attempt.
They were charged Friday and have already appeared in court at the Bridgeview courthouse, where bail was set at $500,000 each, police said.
