Jan. 18--A man and two boys were charged with armed robbery after they robbed a man at gunpoint in the Uptown neighborhood early Sunday, Chicago police said.
Richard Brooks, 18, of the 5000 block of North Ashland Avenue and two boys, whose names were not available because they are juveniles, were charged with felony armed robbery with a firearm, according to police.
According to police, a 23-year-old man was on the 1400 block of West Argyle Street at about 12:40 a.m. when he was approached by four males, police said.
The suspects punched the victim before taking out a handgun and announcing a robbery, police said. The males took the victim's cell phone and fled, police said.
A witness was able to tell the police where the suspects had fled. Police took three of the males in custody and were able to recover the man's cell phone. They also recovered a loaded handgun.
