BRIEF: 3 charged in Portage shooting that left man dead

Dec. 13--The Chicago Tribune Media Group's Gary Post-Tribune reports: Police detailed stolen guns and a scuffle that ended with Alexius Tapia's death early Friday outside his Portage, Indiana, home, but not before he shot one of the teen suspects in each of his arms, according to charging documents filed Friday afternoon.

Thomas Reichler, 18, 405 Strongbow Trail, Chesterton, is charged with murder in the death of Tapia, 36. He also is charged with felonies of attempted theft and theft/possession of stolen property.

Korey Izynski, 19, of downstate Clarksville, is charged with felony counts of attempted theft, theft and theft/possession of stolen property.

Nathaniel Sipe, 19, 677 E. U.S. 6, Westville, is charged with a felony count of attempted theft.
