May 18--One man was killed and at least six people were wounded in shootings in Chicago from midmorning Tuesday through the evening, police said.
The fatal shooting occurred about 9:30 p.m. when a 38-year-old man was shot in West Humboldt Park. He was in the 1300 block of North Pulaski Road when he was shot in the chest. He was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead later Tuesday night.
Other shootings:
--At 9 p.m., a 42-year-old man was shot in Little Village. He was walking in the 2100 block of South Fairfield Avenue when someone got out of a dark vehicle in a nearby alley and fired shots. He was hit in the ankle and went to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition was stabilized.
--At 8:20 p.m., a 32-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting in the Douglas Park neighborhood. He was getting into a car in the 1500 block of South Washtenaw Avenue when someone fired shots, hitting him several times. He went to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
--At 8:15 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in Gresham. He was in the 8900 block of South Parnell Avenue when he was shot in the left knee. He went to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition.
--At 6:55 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in Bronzeville. He went to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center after being hit in the foot in the 600 block of East Bowen Drive. He was listed in good condition.
--At 1:45 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the right arm in the 3100 block of West Polk Street, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
--At 9:30 a.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in Woodlawn. He was in the 6200 block of South Kimbark Avenue when two men approached him and one opened fire. He was hit in the right leg and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.
