Dec. 30--Two people were wounded in separate shootings on the city's North and West sides Monday night, police said.
The latest shooting happened about 10:20 p.m. in Lake View on the city's North Side.
A 21-year-old man was standing by his vehicle at a gas station in the 4000 block of North Clark Street when he heard gunfire and felt pain, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The man drove himself to Weiss Memorial Hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his right shoulder, Alfaro said.
A short time earlier, a man was shot in East Garfield Park on the city's West Side.
The 21-year-old man was shot in his leg about 9:55 p.m. in the 500 block of North Springfield Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.
The man was talking to a female when a gunman approached on foot and fired shots, hitting the man in the right thigh, police said.
The 21-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition and was uncooperative with police, Sedevic said.
