BRIEF: 2 stabbed near Brown Line CTA stop in Lincoln Square

June 05--A man and a woman were stabbed near the Western Avenue Brown Line CTA stop in Chicago's Lincoln Square community after getting into an argument with other people, police said.

The argument began about 4:30 p.m. on the station platform in the 4600 block of North Western Avenue and involved two other men and a woman the couple knew, police said.

The argument continued to the ground level, and the couple were stabbed, police said.

The man, 20, was stabbed several times in the upper body and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, officials said.

The woman, 18, was stabbed in the arm and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody.
