BRIEF: 2 wounded in Englewood, Humboldt Park shootings

May 19--Two men were wounded in separate shootings in Englewood and Humboldt Park on Monday, police said.

In the latest shooting, a 27-year-old man showed up at a West Side hospital with a gunshot wound to the left ring finger, police said

The man went to Mount Sinai Hospital about 6:20 p.m. because he needed treatment for a gunshot wound, police said.

The man claimed he had been shot at Chicago and Sawyer avenues in the Humboldt Park neighborhood about 6 p.m., police said.

Earlier, a 19-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in the Englewood neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened about 5 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Bishop Street, police said.

The man was outside when he got into an argument with another person who pulled out a gun and shot him, police said.

The man had a gunshot wound to the left leg and was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

The investigations are ongoing, police said.
