Feb. 11--Two people were shot dead in Gary early Thursday, authorities said.
Representatives of the Lake County (Ind.) coroner's office were called to the 5200 block of Adams Street just before 2 a.m. to investigate the deaths of 31-year-old Nicole Handley and a male whose identity has not been publicly released.
They were pronounced dead about 2:30 a.m. Both were found to have died of gunshot wounds, and their deaths were ruled homicides.
No information about the circumstances of the shootings was immediately available.
