1 dead, 3 hurt in separate shootings

Feb. 24--One man was dead and three other men were injured in separate shootings Sunday morning and afternoon, police said.

Police said that at 2:34 p.m. a 26-year-old man was shot on the 2000 block of West 69th Place in the West Englewood neighborhood.

The victim was identified as Swan Lockhart, of the 7100 block of South Honore Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

After Lockhart was shot he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Police said the man was a known gang member.

Earlier, a 44-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in a domestic-related incident Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened about 1 p.m. in the 8600 block of South Colfax Avenue, police said.

After being shot in the buttocks, the victim managed to get to the 1100 block of East 47th Street near Greenwood Avenue, police said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

A 22-year-old man was wounded in a gang-related incident around 10 a.m. in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.

The man was walking through a parking lot in the 3800 block of South Kedzie Avenue when a male attacker came out of a gray jeep, asked him if he was part of the Two Six Nation street gang and fired shots, according to a police source. The attacker then jumped back into the jeep and fled.

The man, who is a documented gang member, was shot in the right calf and received a graze wound to his left thigh, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition stabilized.

Earlier, around 2:22 a.m. Sunday, a 26-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the West Town community area, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.

The man was standing outside in the 1400 block of West Wabansia Avenue when he heard gunshots and realized he was struck, Gaines said.

The man was hit in the buttocks and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where his condition's stabilized.
