Jan. 08--Officials released surveillance photos Thursday of two men who took over and robbed a Westmont bank at gunpoint a day earlier.
The two robbed the West Suburban Bank branch, 6400 S. Cass Ave., about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to the FBI's BanditTrackerChicago website.
The men, one of them armed with a handgun, went into the bank and told employees to get on the floor, FBI spokesman Special Agent Garrett Croon said in an email. There were no customers in the bank at the time.
The robbers took cash from the bank and fled on foot, according to Croon.
The robber with the gun was described as a black man in his 30s to 40s, standing about 6 feet tall and with a medium build, according to the FBI. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, dark jeans and black shoes. The second robber was described as a black man with a medium to large build, standing 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and white gym shoes with red laces.
Anyone with information about the bank robbery is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
