BRIEF: 2 pulled from Chicago River in the Loop

June 27--Chicago Fire Department officials said two people fell from a kayak in the Loop on Saturday afternoon.

The fire department and police marine units were called to the Chicago River at LaSalle Street at 2:35 p.m., said Chicago Fire Deputy District Chief Jeff Lyle.

The two people were in a kayak and managed to fall into the water, said Lyle. They were quickly rescued and taken to authorities, who were evaluating them, said Lyle.
