Feb. 07--A man accused of stabbing a 13-year-old relative in the head during a domestic incident was order held Saturday on $2 million bail.
Victor Rico, 26, of the 2700 block of South Trumbull Avenue, was charged earlier Saturday with aggravated battery causing bodily harm, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
He appeared Saturday afternoon at a bail hearing where Cook County Judge Peggy Chiampas set his bail.
Police and prosecutors said shortly after 3:30 a.m. Friday, a relative of Rico was at the Trumbull Avenue address when she was stabbed. When police were called to the scene, Rico kept them at bay with a knife, prosecutors said.
The girl suffered several lacerations to her face and neck, and was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Rico was charged in connection with her injuries after he was identified as the attacker, police said.
