BRIEF: 2 injured in separate shootings on South, West sides

Jan. 18--Two people were injured in separate daytime shootings on the South and West sides, police said.

A 25-year-old man was shot at 12:55 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Marquette Road in the Marquette Park neighborhood, police said.

The man was shot in the leg and was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.

The first shooting happened at 12:15 p.m. on the 1500 block of South Karlov Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood, police said.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the hand in what police believe may be narcotics-related shooting, police said. The man, who is not being cooperative, managed to take himself to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.
