BRIEF: 2 hurt when Streets and San truck slams into West Side building

Sept. 30--A man and a woman were injured Wednesday morning when a Chicago Streets and Sanitation truck smashed into a building in the Pilsen industrial corridor on the West Side.

The accident happened about 6:50 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Ashland Avenue and the injuries were minor, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.

According to preliminary reports, a Chicago Streets and Sanitation truck crashed into a building. The driver, a 60-year-old woman, and a man who was a passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash, Estrada said.

The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital and the man was treated at the University of Illinois Medical Center.

No details of the accident were available.
