Feb. 18--A man was seriously burned and a woman suffered smoke inhalation in a fire in a Chicago Lawn bungalow Wednesday night, according to fire officials.

The fire broke out around 8:25 p.m. on the first floor of a home in the 6000 block of South Troy Street and spread to the attic of a neighboring home, said Fire Department spokesman Juan Hernandez.

A 21-year-old man with burns and a woman with smoke inhalation were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. The man was listed in critical condition and the woman's condition was stabilized.

Fire officials initially said that the man was a juvenile.
