BRIEF: 2 hurt in South Side shooting

Jan. 05--Two men were wounded in an apparent drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, police said.

The two men, both 19 years old, were in the 4800 block of South Bishop Street when they were shot about 3:08 p.m., said Police News Affairs spokesman Officer Thomas Sweeney.

One of the men suffered gunshot wounds to the stomach and leg, and the other suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, Sweeney said.

The attack may have been a drive-by shooting, police said.

The two were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where their conditions has stabilized.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
