BRIEF: 2 hurt in partial roof collapse at Lawndale home

Sept. 18--A man and a woman were taken to a hospital in good condition following the partial roof collapse of a home on the West Side, officials said.

The incident happened around 6:20 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Kolin Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood, according to authorities.

Police said there were two victims in good condition at Loretto Hospital -- a 50-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man.

Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson said one person had a head injury.

The home was recently undergoing renovations and the rain overnight could have caused the roof to partially give way, police said.

No details were available.
