BRIEF: 2 hurt in crash on Lake Shore Drive

Jan. 25--Two people were hospitalized after a three-car crash on Lake Shore Drive on the Near South Side on Saturday evening, police said.

The crash happened around 10:50 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Lake Shore Drive, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

A Jeep Liberty traveling northbound on Lake Shore Drive sideswiped two other vehicles and struck a traffic signal pole, Greer said.

The Jeep's driver and passenger were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where their conditions stabilized.

Citations are pending for the Jeep's driver, a 28-year-old man, Greer said.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
