BRIEF: 2 hurt in car crash on South Side

June 07--A man and a woman were hurt in a car crash late Saturday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

Around 10:45 p.m., a Honda Accord collided with a Dodge Charger at an intersection in the 1100 block of West Garfield Boulevard, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

A 23-year-old man, who was driving the Dodge, was taken in good condition to St. Bernard Hospital.

A 19-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Dodge, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where her condition stabilized, Greer said.

The driver and passenger of the Honda refused medical attention, Greer said.

A 20-year-old man, who was driving the Honda, was issued a citation for driving too fast for conditions, Greer said.

No other information was available about the crash.
