Feb. 24--Two seniors were hospitalized after a fire broke out in an East Hyde Park high-rise Tuesday night, fire officials said.
At about 10:45 p.m., a fire broke on the 10th floor of a building in the 5400 block of South Cornell Avenue. Fire crews responded and the blaze was extinguished within about an hour.
Two senior citizens were taken to Mercy Hospital for precautionary evaluations, said Chicago Fire Dept. Cmdr. Frank Velez. They were not injured.
