BRIEF: 2 cops hurt in crash on Northwest Side

May 08--Two police officers were injured when their squad car hit a tree early Sunday morning on the Northwest Side, police said.

The two officers were in a police squad car when it struck a tree around 1:40 a.m. in the 5800 block of North Pulaski Road in the Hollywood Park neighborhood, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.

The two officers were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash, and no other information was immediately available.
