BRIEF: 2 charged with throwing bottles at police at scene of fatal shooting

June 17--Two men have been charged after throwing glass bottles at officers responding to a shooting over the weekend in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to police.

Miguel Medina, 33, and Jose Patino, 27, were taken into custody after a brief foot chase and charged with aggravated assault to a police officer and reckless conduct, police said.

Police were called to 43rd and Honore streets about 12:30 a.m. and found two gunshot victims, one of whom died at the scene.

Medina and Patino threw bottles about 15 minutes after the shooting, police said.

Medina lives in the 5400 block of South Latrobe Avenue, police said. Patino lives in the 1700 block of West 44th Street, about two blocks from where the shooting happened.
