Jan. 30--Two people are in police custody after attempting to crash a vehicle into a storefront Saturday morning on the Northwest Side in the city's Portage Park community.
The incident happened about 6 a.m. at a store in the 5400 block of West Belmont Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.
According to preliminary information, someone tried to crash a vehicle into the front of the store. Police were investigating the incident as a possible attempted burglary, Estrada said.
Two people were taken into custody near the scene.
