BRIEF: 16-year-old boy in custody, accused of shooting at police on North Side

June 29--A 16-year-old boy was arrested Sunday afternoon after shooting at Chicago police officers in the city's Uptown neighborhood on the North Side, police said.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call of a gang-related disturbance on the 4600 block of North Kenmore Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department.

As officers approached, a 16-year-old boy attempted to flee and fired a shot. The boy was taken into police custody and a weapon was recovered, Sedevic said.

No one was injured during the incident.

As of Monday morning, charges were pending.
