Nov. 12--A 10-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the side by his 8-year-old brother Thursday morning in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side, according to authorities.
The boy was taken by his family to Little Company of Mary Hospital, and he was transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in guarded condition with a gunshot wound near his left ribs, police said.
The shooting happened about 9 a.m. in the 9000 block of South Bishop Street, authorities said.
