BRIEF: 2 injured in shootings in Lawndale, Gresham

April 05--Two people were shot in separate daytime incidents on the South and West sides, police said.

In the latest shooting, a 17-year-old girl was shot on the 1400 block of West 88th Street, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The girl was shot in the left foot at 1:50 p.m in what may have been a domestic-related shooting and was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Lemmon said.

Earlier, a 25-year-old man was injured in a shooting Sunday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The shooting happened at 11:40 a.m. on the 4200 block of West Cermak Road, police said.

The man was shot in the left leg and was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was stabilized, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating. No one was in custody.
