BRIEF: 1 injured in porch collapse at West Rogers Park building

March 07--A man was injured when a deck collapsed Saturday morning on the Far North Side in the city's West Rogers Park neighborhood.

About 11 a.m., police and the Chicago Fire Department were alerted to the scene of a 3-story building where a collapsed porch on the 6300 block of North Albany Avenue, said police spokeswoman Janel Sedevic.

A man, believed to be in his 60s, was injured in the collapse. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, but his condition was not immediately available, Sedevic said.

According to Fire Media information, the first-floor deck collapsed, leaving people trapped inside. Firefighters were helping people out of the building and said the only way out was through rear windows.
