BRIEF: 1 hurt, 10 displaced in Little Village fire

March 10--A man was hurt and 10 people were displaced when a fire broke out early Thursday in Little Village on the West Side.

The blaze started inside a two-flat building in the 2400 block of South Pulaski Road around 3:40 a.m., said Chicago Fire Department Chief Joe Roccosalva. When firefighters got to the building, flames were on the first and second floors.

Firefighters rescued two men from the second floor in the back of the building, Roccosalva said. One of them suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, he said.

The blaze was struck out about 10 minutes after firefighters arrived.

In total, seven adults and three children were displaced, Roccosalva said.

The fire was under investigation.
