BRIEF: 1 hospitalized after hazmat response in Uptown

Jan. 03--A woman was taken to a hospital Sunday after being sickened by carbon monoxide fumes in the Uptown neighborhood, officials said.

It happened in the 4900 block of North Winthrop Avenue about 12:30 p.m., according to Chief Juan Hernandez, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department.

One person, possibly a woman in her 20s, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where her condition had stabilized, Hernandez said.
