Jan. 18--One person has died after the vehicle he was driving crashed Sunday morning into a parked trailer in a construction zone on the shoulder of Interstate 290 in Itasca, officials said.
According to Illinois State Police officials, the crash happened at 8:49 a.m. on I-290 westbound at Thordale East in Itasca.
According to Itasca Fire Department officials and the DuPage County coroner's office, Daniel A. Bozowski of Elk Grove Village was pronounced dead at the scene. His age was not immediately available.
An autopsy conducted Monday determined that he died of multiple traumatic injuries, according to the coroner's office.
The trailer was on the shoulder of the road in a construction area, according to police and fire officials.
It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, officials said.
