Dec. 29--At least one person was killed and as many as three others injured in a head-on collision Monday evening in the Pearblossom area near Palmdale, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The deadly collision occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Fort Tejon Road, CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.
One person was declared dead at the scene, Villalobos said.
A rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene, and firefighters were trying to free at least one person from the wreckage.
The cause of the accident was under investigation.
