June 15--One man was killed and another injured in a shooting in south suburban Robbins late Sunday, authorities said.
Damarkus Christmas, 20, was shot about 10 p.m. in the 4100 block of West 135th Place in Robbins, according to a news release from Robbins police. Christmas, who lived about a block away in the 4100 block of West 136th Place, was pronounced dead at 10:53 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
After a Monday autopsy, the medical examiner said the man died of mutiple gunshot wounds and ruled the death a homicide.
A 20-year-old man from Robbins also was shot in both legs in the incident and taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police released no information about what led to the shooting and said no one is in custody.
